Location of Srinagar

Srinagar, located in the center of Kashmir valley, is bounded by the Pir Panjal Range in the southwest and the Himalayan Range in the northeast. It lies at an altitude of 1730 m above sea level and is spread over a total area of about 114 square meters. Its altitude is 5200 feet, located at 34° 5'24 "N and 74° 47'24" E.

The town is dotted with culturally significant landmarks. The city is divided by the Jhelum River. Srinagar is known as the 'City of Kadals' due to its vast number of bridges (bridges). Many location names, such as Habba Kadal, Aali Kadal, Nawa Kadal, Amira Kadal, and others, are derived from their respective bridges.
