Best time to visit
Although Vaishno Devi is open throughout the year, pilgrims mainly visit from March to July when the weather is pleasant and set at a comfortable temperature range of 17 to 31 degrees Celsius.
The peak season, however, is the Navratras. Yatra during monsoon is avoided as the heavy rainfall makes the route slippery and dangerous. It is also not advisable to travel in winters because the weather can become unbearably harsh during that time.
