The Aharbal Falls is a natural formation formed on the Veshaw River in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir. The Veshaw River is a tributary of the mighty Jhelum River and has its source in the Kausar Nag Lake in the higher reaches. Aharbal is located about 70 kilometers from Srinagar City. This fall is situated among the Pir Panjal mountains. There are villages located in and around the place, which add to the hospitality. How to reach?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can reach Aharbal, one of the hidden waterfalls in Kashmir, from two routes. The way from Shopian and a second way from Kulgam. The Shopian route is the most used by tourists. The location is near the Mughal Road, which is a historic pass for moving in and out of the valley. You can take a taxi from Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar straight to the fall or move to Shopian in a shared cab and then take another one to reach here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two lecturers in the year 2021 found some fossils near the Aharbal Falls. After examining the fossils, the scientists pointed out that the fossils may be among the oldest in Kashmir.
